OK, get your battle armour on ladies and gents.

I am diving in for a high-risk, high-return away win today.

This always leads to a roller coaster afternoon, and more often than not a loss – think about that and remember the principle of value betting!

Huddersfield square off against Bournemouth in half an hour and I fancy The Terriers to come out firing even though this is the away leg.

There are so many things in favour of Lee Clark’s men here I can’t help but take the 3.00 on offer.

On a macro level, having lost out to Millwall in last years Playoffs the majority of this team have been there before and will not want to lose out again.  Nor will they be overawed.

Bournemouth on the other hand, have staggered into the playoffs, going 2/4/6/-5 over their final 12 games – almost relegation form.  I don’t blame Lee bradbury, as an inexperienced manager he did a good job after Eddie Howe’s farcical departure for Turf Moor.

We must remember  this team was in League 2 last season and they have struggled mightily against the better sides this season, performing only as a mid table team.

Huddersfield performed well against the better sides and finished the season 9/3/0/+13 over the last 12 games.

Everything point in one direction – except the home field advantage.  However, 3.00 (33%) is far too big a premium.  I would have The Terriers somewhere around 2.3 (43%) for this game, I honestly would – which is a huuuuugeee margin.

Get stuck in.  Then settle in on the sofa… and watch Man United win the League!

Hoorah!

Saturday AM trivia

Posted by: | Comments (10)

Morning ladies and gents.

Currently digging around to see if there is anything I really like for you today.  I am sure I’ll manage to come up with something, although the remaining long positions going down to the wire is enough of a distraction for me personally at the moment.

Before I do get onto today’s action, I thought I would canvas opinion on something.

This weekend I plan to pull together my season long analysis – the sort of stuff from last year that brought about this post on last season’s profit sensation Notts County

but before I do I thought I would take a stab from everyone as to:

a) Which Premier League team will be the most profitablt this season on a level 5% stakes approach; and

b) Which team will be the most profitable across all the leagues?

If you already know the answers please don’t spoil it for everyone else by “guessing”.

I honestly have no idea, but have two teams in mind… I’ll throw them in the mix after a couple of guesses.

Cheers

Back to the OT well

Morning guys,

Hope everyone is looking forward to the climax of the season over the coming weeks.  Apologies for not providing you with an abundance of selections recently.  The season has somewhat fizzled out for me for some reason I can’t put my finger on.

I think the bookies have had their finger a little closer to the pulse on the weekend action than usual which has been a hindrance.

And last weekend I was preoccupied taking on a number of the West coast of Ireland’s golf courses.

For the golfers out their my first tip of the week is a new golf course in County Kilkenny called Bunclody.  It was only established in 2009, but for 40 Euros the place is an absolute steal.

Special mentions also for the old links at Rosslare and the slightly corporate, but mightily impressive Druids Glen.  All well worth a visit.

Anyway, onto this weekend’s action.
