Whirled Coop Review – Part 1
Posted by: | CommentsSo here we have it.
More overdue that goal line technology and as badly organised as a Diego Maradona back four, the big Whirled Coop prediction competition review is finally here.
Although one person in particular would like to delay it indefinitely, here goes.
Drum roll please… And the wooden spoon goes to… the artist always known as “Dayno”.
I would love to say it was close… but it wasn’t.
NY Mets @ SF Giants
Posted by: | CommentsI am aware my baseball tips have been pretty few and far between this season.
If I am honest I haven’t been fully focused on trying to provide them given what I have assumed is a lack of appetite for the bets or desire to read detailed baseball analysis.
When I have found the odd bit of real value, the timings have also often been that I cannot post selections – I am aware that deciding on something at 2am isn’t really that useful to most people!
The St Louis Cardinals will win the NL Central
Posted by: | CommentsI am going to take the remaining 8/11 hanging around for the Red Birds to win the NL Central.
Back tomorrow with an update.
BOTW: 5pts on St Louis Cardinals to win the NL Central @ 8/11
Fulham – Next permanent manager market
Posted by: | CommentsThe jolly Dutch giant himself, Martin Jol, is now roughly even money favourite to become the next Fulham manager.
It has been a rapid shift in the market from 33’s yesterday, and the former Spurs man had previously been backed on the exchanges at odds as long as 310/1 – a nice little earner for somebody.
There are a range of prices left in the market from 4/6 (no prizes for guessing who) to a little bit of 7/4 remaining at low limits and 2.7 on the exchanges.
I think this is an interesting move for both parties, and I am going to have a couple of my own roubles on it happening. After reading this, I have decided there is probably some fire to go with the smoke.. the two parties went on a couple of dinner dates in 2007.
That said… if I was in Al-Fayed’s shoes? Well, after taking off my shoes and flogging them for £2,000, I would pick up my gold plated dog ‘n bone and give Bob Bradley a call.
He should be given a top flight European job asap and an English speaking team such as Fulham, with a good blend of industrious workers and quality players who can move the ball, would suit his style perfectly.
In my opinion he is a cheap, low-risk appointment with high upside potential.

Case Study – Notts County 2009-10
Posted by: | CommentsBack in January I wrote an article, “Notsoshabby”, to support that days selection of Notts County to beat Barnet, which I had identified as the best value bet of that particular weekend.
This was one of my favourite selections of the season, and over the months that followed I backed County twice more on BOTW and I also backed them personally on numerous other occasions.
I was rooting around in the back of a virtual drawer the other day and found some interesting stuff in the darkest depths of a spreadsheet, so I thought I would share it with the masses.
