Whirled Coop Review – Part 2
Posted by: | CommentsAlso rans. Mid-table obscurity. Think… Blackburn Rovers.
Normally not exactly where you want to be or what you strive for entering a competition.
However, this is no ordinary competition. This is the betting equivalent of the 1970 World Cup.
As a result, a nice 10-15% profit is just not going to cut the mustard. And so, I present to you our (profitable) mid-table no hopers.
No idea who these two jokers are, but here goes
The BOTW forum has arrived!
Posted by: | CommentsLadies & Gentlemen,
I have created a “discussion forum” for BOTW. Hopefully this proves to be a good addition to the site. I am going to have this up on a temporary basis to see if their is a thirst for it and to see how the interaction goes.
I don’t want the focus to shift away from the main site too much, but I have noticed recently that when I post about a sport or topic the days conversation often then wanders and takes us from that onto the days football developments and even on to a third or fourth discussion within the same thread.
I would really like to build the site out into a strong niche community of more “thoughtful” sports bettors and hopefully this forum is another step towards that.
Let me know what you think and get some stuff up on the forum when appropriate to kick it off.
If you have other “sections” you would like on the forum, just shout.
Also, I would just like to take this opportunity to ask all my readers to help me out with a little bit of promotion of the site. If you regularly use other betting sites or are part of any other sports communities, a quick little sales pitch of my work would be really appreciated.
Although, I would stress, when doing this I do not want to attempt to displace any other community sites and forums and be careful if mentioning my site not to upset any other sites.
But I feel my site is “a little different” to all other betting and tips sites out there, so within reason a little help with the promotion of the site would go down a treat.
Cheers!
Giants @ Dodgers – Over +7.5 runs
Posted by: | CommentsI can’t stay away at the moment.
A day after the Gunfight as the O.K Corral, the Giants and Dodgers lock horns again tonight in Southern California.
I am expecting a feisty affair tonight, with the Dodgers amped up to avoid being swept in their own back yard.
I am going to place a small wager on the +7.5 runs market.
I will avoid giving the war and peace style analysis to save some time here, but Barry Zito is currently “overvalued” in the market and is due to see some regression in his results.
He is currently running at a 4.9% Home Run / Fly Ball percentage (HR/FB%) which is unsustainable in the long term.
This has resulted in Zito running with an ERA lower than his actual pitching performances have warranted – you can see this here at my favourite site (and main inspiration of where I want to take BOTW in the long term), Fangraphs.
Zito’s opponent, Chad Billingsley, has also had his struggles this year and his ERA is currently bloated due to an unfortunately high Batting Average on Balls in Play (BABIP) (!).
However, he has also been having some mechanical problems and is currently only a middle of the rotation quality starter.
I expect both teams to fight to the death, come out swinging hard and flash a little power tonight.
Back over 7.5 runs at the 20/23 or best price available.
And, for the record, I am calling a 6-4 Dodgers victory.
BOTW: 2pts on +7.5 runs in the Giants/Dodgers game @ 20/23
An introduction to “advanced” baseball theory & baseball betting – Red Sox vs A’s
Posted by: | CommentsOK, well seems there is some appetite for baseball betting so I am going to spend a little longer on it going forward.
I am also aware there is a pretty big push for me to get things up a bit earlier, so I will also try to do that in the future. Apologies in advance for this being last minute.
I have loads of good tidbits on baseball I am happy to pass onto you guys if people do care for them.
Apologies in advance if this goes straight over your head. You may need to read some bits a few times to get your head around it, but hopefully you will eventually enjoy it. And if so this stuff opens up a whole new world of sports betting opportunities… here goes…
