19 games. 5 goals. 1 very happy camper.
Posted by: | CommentsAfter exactly half of the season The Ecuadorian Express passed one of the worst spreads I have seen in years by reaching 5 Premier League goals and securing us a healthy profit.
An 83% return, secured in only 5 months. Winner. Even more satisfying is that I was at OT to see him complete his mission. My visits to watch SAF’s Red and White army are unfortunately becoming quite rare these days.
Valencia has quietly impressed this season and probably hasn’t been given the credit his peformances deserve. If you look at his statistics he has really stepped up in the last couple of months.
This win has taken us through the 50pt profit barrier since the blog went live back in July. A great return and excellent pace given the small stakes used to minimise risk and ensure diversification.
Easy! Easy! *Waves arms like idiot*
Posted by: | CommentsAnother successful day today, with a net profit of almost 5pts.
Excellent wins for Rochdale (4-1), Millwall (2-0) and Mansfield (2-1) were only marginally offset by a loss in the smallest 1pt punt on Middlesborough.
I still feel there is cash to be made there as WGS starts to stamp his authority on the squad. They certainly have the talent to succeed in the Championship.
Rochdale’s comfortable win was particularly pleasing. That was one game where I even considered stepping out of the self imposed 3pt event max I felt it was so badly priced. In the Premier League an equivalent fixture would have been around 1/2.
To celebrate The Dale’s achievement I have upped their aptly sponsored shirt… Can I see a future match made in heaven on the horizon?!
On another note, anti-gambling failed with respect to Huddersfield and Everton… if I had pushed out a little further to those prices it could have been a REALLY big day…
I shall be back again no doubt with some more selections for the games over the coming week.
Adios.
Call to arms…
Posted by: | CommentsJust a quick one to all eight people out there that read this blog…
Before we all turn back into pumpkins on 4th January 2009, I thought I would try and take advantage of the season of goodwill and people’s high spirits.
Please feel free to chuck some comments around on the blog with respect to my choices past and present (even future if you have those sorts of skills. They can be handy) or the site/blog in general. Even your thoughts on life, why not.
A bit of interaction is always a) good banter and b) helps filter out any possible poor selctions. But as you have already seen, those are less frequent than titles are at Anfield these days…
I hope one day to have developed a more substantial following. And you will be able to get one of those T-Shirt’s that say’s “I was there…”

Posted by: | CommentsI just wrote a 600 word entry full of vim, vigour and my usual northern banter.
Then when attempting to insert the useless picture of a football, my browser locked up. And for the first time ever my auto-save function doesn’t seem to have worked. Bonus.
Irritating to say the least. So as a consequence, you now only getting an Executive Summary.
1. I like the price of Huddersfield, but I am wary of the unpredictable force that is the MK Dons, so I am giving it a swerve at the last second. Anti-gambling officially employed.
2. Back Rochdale to beat Morecambe. Yes, Rochdale, again. Rochdale are great. Morecambe are crap. Rochdale are going up. Morecambe will finish 12th.
3. I am going to back Millwall. Focussed and due to get their playoff case back on track. Too big at 10/11 at the fortress that is TND.
4. I was going to back Everton hard at the initial and silly 4/6 that was available earlier today. However, you know what they say about bandwagon’s/seeing/lateness. Officially late.
5. Have a sneaky small tinkle on an improving Middlesborough away from home at 17/10 and on Mansfield at home to Cambridge.
If you are dissatisfied with the above for an explanation, try being in my shoes. Almost an hour’s work down the swanny and nothing to show for it.
BOTW: 3pts on Rochdale to beat Morecambe @ 4/5
2pts on Millwall to beat Bristol Rovers @ 10/11
1.5pts on Mansfield to beat Cambridge @ 11/10
1pt on Middlesborough to win at Barnsley @ 17/10
Increasing PL exposure…
Posted by: | CommentsAnother success with Yeovil running out comfortable 4-0 winners against Wycombe yesterday. Not bad for an odds against home punt.
I have decided to stretch out my position on Chelsea to 15pts. This is beyond my usual limits, however as this is a low risk short term play I am going to allow it. The price is out to 2.15 on Betfair giving a combined price of circa 1.9.
I think there is plenty of uncertainty priced into the current price due to the pending African Cup of Nations. However, I feel it will prove unfounded and Chelsea’s squad will be more than capable of coping with a comfortable run of fixtures.
Chelsea, although appearing to have faltered in recent weeks, the draws against Everton, West Ham and Birmingham should not be over-estimated.
I anticipate that by the end of February the winner of the top division this tear will be much clearer.
Back later with tomorrow’s selections.
